Hello! My name is Brian Ransom. I'm a writer and a journalist. I live in Brooklyn, and I love milkshakes.
I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2014 with a Bachelor of Journalism and an English minor. During my time at MU, I studied with former New York Times columnist Mary Kay Blakely and former Believer editor Andrew Leland, among many others. With my writing — both fiction and nonfiction — I aim to drill into the absurd and emerge on the other side with a deeper understanding of what it means to be alive. I also just have a fundamental love of the ways words and sentences fit together. I'm basically an atom collider with words, dawg.
My journalism has appeared in the Columbia Missourian and Vox Magazine. I've yet to publish any fiction, but I'm always working on new material, and I'm readying some of my finished pieces for submission.
